Diyas (lamps) lighting up Ayodhya on Diwali

Puja in Ayodhya

– Exclusive & Private by appointment

A fundamental Hindu ritual, puja (also spelt as ‘pooja’) is performed by many Hindus to fortify their bodily and spiritual well-being. The term “Darshans” or “Darshanam” refers to the contact between a human and a divinity. The Sanskrit word puja (also spelt as pooja) means, reverence, honor, homage, adoration, or worship in general. Puja can take several forms, from a simple and straightforward daily rituals performed at homes to more complex temple ceremonies. Offering flowers, sweets, fruits, incense sticks, fruits and symbolic objects; reciting mantras; applying tilak; lighting diyas; and performing the aarti are some typical components of a puja.

At Tornos with an exclusive and a special arrangement at an ancient temple in Ayodhya we perform Puja primarily for health, wealth, wellbeing and peace. An exclusive puja is in the name and for the guest inside a temple performed by a priest of the temple. As an add-on you can also arrange a ‘Bhandara’, a community meal for the priests or the poor in this holy land to honour  the departed, or to celebrate a wedding, anniversary or a birthday, it is frequently practiced ritual in Hinduism as a thanksgiving community meal.
