DHULI URAD DAL (black gram skinned) 250 GM
GINGER ( FINELY CHOPPED ) 10 GM
GREEN CHILLI (FINELY CHOPPED) 5 NO
SALT TO TASTE
TEMPERING
FAT / OIL 50 GM
ONION (CHOPPED) 1 NO
CUMIN SEEDS 1 TSP
BROWN ONION 10 GM
CHAT MASALA 5 GM
GARAM MASALA 5 GM
GARNISH
CORIANDER (CHOPPED) 5 GM
BROWN ONION 10 GM
GINGER JULIENNES 5 GM

PREPARATION :
  1. Soak dhuli urad dal for 1 hour in water.
  2. Peel onion, ginger and finely chop onion, ginger and green chillies.
METHOD :
  1. Boil water in a vessel, add chopped ginger, green chillies, salt and dal and cook till it is almost to tender . Then strain the dal.
  2. Put the dal in the vessel. heat the ghee in it add chopped onion , cumin and temper the dal. sprinkle brown onion , chat masala and garam masala and mix well .
  3. Now seal the vessel with dough and put it on dum for 5 minutes.
  4. Transfer dal to portion bowl and garnish with coriander , brown onion and ginger juliennes.
