Rishikesh Walk

We begin our walk from the slopes above Laxman Jhula every day at 1530 hrs. This area is a hangout of westerners, who have been bowled over by Hinduism and see Rishikesh as the gateway to the abode of God. Our walks make you understand what Hinduism is all about. You will visit an array of shops selling religious gadgets and souveniers, later we reach the German Bakery to get a full view of the Laxman Jhula, Ghats and of course the sacred Ganges. While you sip tea, our volunteer will introduce you to Hinduism, guiding you through its many facets. Later walk across the Ganges through Laxman Jhula. On the other side we visit a few ashrams before witnessing the evening aarti at Parmarth Neketan, watch people gather and pray together swaying the aarti to the tune of the prayers. Once it is all over, sit back for a few minutes and enjoy a quiet moments on the river bank, listening to the soft gurgling sound of the river. We then reach a ghat to float our lamps in thanksgiving to mother Ganges. Crossover Ram Jhula to end this walk.
